Brent Carpenter
Educational Background
Brent was born and raised in North Carolina and moved to Oregon in 1998. He is a graduate of New York University (B.A., 1995, cum laude) and Lewis & Clark Law School (J.D. and Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law, 2009). Brent was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2009.
Prior to law school Brent worked in sales and management and ran a web design business.
While in law school Brent was an associate editor of Environmental Law and earned a Best Oral Advocate award in the 2007 First Year Moot Court Competition. Brent also won the 2008 Davis Wright Tremaine International Writing Award for his comment, Warm Is the New Cold: Global Warming, Oil, UNCLOS Article 76, and How an Arctic Treaty Might Stop a New Cold War. The comment was published in issue 39:1 of Environmental Law.
Brent enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
